Oklahoma City, Okla. – Both games went to extra innings as day two got started at the MIAA Softball Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla.
#8 Emporia State 1, #2 Pittsburg State 0 (8 innings)
In another pitchers duel Emporia State got a run in the top of the eighth to earn a 1-0 upset of second seed Pittsburg State.
The Hornets broke the 0-0 tie in the top of the eighth inning as Hailey Cope homered to left field.
In the circle Eryn Stockman threw all eight innings allowing just three hits and striking out seven.
ESU will face Missouri Western in an elimination game scheduled for a 12:40 p.m. from Oklahoma City, Okla.

Missouri Western got three runs in the top of the eighth inning as they earned a 4-1 extra inning win.
Missouri Western struck first in the top of the second as Kailey Green stole second allowing Shelby Uhl to score from third. Southwest Baptist would answer as Alexis Dock drove home Stormy Christerson with a sacrifice fly to left field.
The Griffons struck in the top of the eighth inning as Sydney Washington singled through the left side scoring Shelbie Atwell. Kailey Green then drove home Washington and Katie Klosterman with a double to left field.
Kenzie Hilzer earned the victory in the circle going eight innings and allowing just five hits.
