Pittsburg, Kan. – Top seeded Emporia State outscored Northern State 20-15 in the final quarter to hold on for a 74-68 victory in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional.
 
For the Lady Hornets Addie Lackey led the way scoring a team best 16 points and dishing out six assists. Sandra Ngoie also finished with 16 points, Kelly Moten had 15 points and Kathryn Flott finished with a game best 14 rebounds.
 
Emporia State will take on fifth seeded Winona State at 5:30 p.m. on March 12 from John Lance Arena in Pittsburg, Kan.
