Kansas City, Mo. – Third seeded Missouri Western got a last second three-pointer, but came up short in an 81-80 loss to sixth seeded Arkansas Tech in the first round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional.
 
For the Griffons Dwanisha Tate led the way scoring 22 points while on the glass Julia Torres pulled down a team best nine rebounds. Sarafina Handy added 17 points, Sarafina Handy had 14 points and Chelsea Dewey had 11 points and four assists.
 
Missouri Western finishes the season 27-4 and were the MIAA regular season champions.
