Warrensburg, Mo. – Central Missouri used a three-run sixth inning to pull out a 4-2 victory over Henderson State in the second round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional.
The Jennies started things off as Lauren Mabe scored an unearned run in the bottom of the second inning. In the bottom of the sixth Lindsey Dawson drove in two runs with a single to shortstop to make it 3-0. Alex Leonhart would then double to score Mabe and make it a 4-0 lead. Henderson would answer with two runs in the top half of the seventh inning.
In the circle Katie Shockley pitched a complete game striking out six and allowing just three hits on her way to the win.
UCM will await the rest of today’s game before finding out who they will play on May 10 at 1 p.m. from Warrensburg, Mo. for the sub regional championship.
