Sioux Falls, S.D. – Central Missouri used two home runs to pull out a 2-1 victory and win the best of three super regional series on the road at Augustana. Central Missouri takes games two after winning the first game of the series 6-0 yesterday.
Augustana got the scoring starting as they plated a run off a single in the top of the first inning. Central Missouri’s answer would come in the bottom half of the second inning as Lauren Mabe deposited a two-two pitch over the right field fence.
The game remained deadlocked at 1-1 until the bottom of the fifth inning when Carlie Rose sent a three-one pitch over the left field fence. UCM would then force Augie to leave the bases loaded in the top of the seventh to cap the victory.
Central Missouri will now travel to ASA Hall of Fame Stadium for the NCAA Division II Softball National Championship May 21-25 from Oklahoma City, Okla.
