Sioux Falls, S.D. – Central Missouri earned a shutout as they blanked Augustana 6-0 to take game one of the NCAA Division II Central Super Regional.
UCM got on the board in the first inning starting with an RBI single from Lindsey Dawson scoring Ali Jo Rogers. Alex Leonhart would add an RBI groundout that scored Dawson before a sacrifice fly from Madison Hood plated Jakki Prater to make it a 3-0 lead.
Leonhart would drive in Lauren Mabe with an RBI single in the third inning to make it a 4-0 advantage. Dawson would then add an RBI single that scored Katie Giacone to make it a 5-0 lead. Finally Dawson added her third RBI on a sacrifice fly that scored Giacone’s second run of the day.
In the circle Katie Shockley went all seven innings allowing just four hits and five total baserunners to pick up the win.
The two teams will face off tomorrow at 10 a.m. with UCM leading the best of three series 1-0 from Sioux Falls, S.D.
