Hays, Kan. – Pittsburg State did not allow a basket in the final four minutes as they held on for a 60-53 victory over Northern State in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional.

PSU led by as much as eight points in the second half before NSU cut the lead to just one with 5:23 to play. PSU would then hold the Huskies to just two points in the final five minutes outscoring them 8-2 during that period.
 
For the Gorillas Mikaela Burgess led the way scoring 12 points, dishing out three assists and coming up with three steals. Kylie Gafford had 11 points and led the way on the glass pulling down seven boards as Lizzy Jeronimus added six rebounds.
 
PSU will take on the winner of second seeded Emporia State and seventh seeded Arkansas Tech at 5 p.m. on March 14 from Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, Kan.
