Hays, Kan. – Second seeded Emporia State used runs of 9, 10 and 11-0 in the second half for a come from behind 68-51 victory over seventh seeded Arkansas Tech in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional.
ESU trailed by as much as 11 points in the first half before using a 9-0 run that spanned the first and second half to take a lead. The runs in the second half then expanded that league as they would lead by as much as 18 in the second period.
For the Lady Hornets Merissa Quick had a double-double scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Kelly Moten led her team with 15 points and Kelsey Barnwell added 11 points while Addie Lackie dished out a team best four assists.
Emporia State will now face third seeded Pittsburg State at 5 p.m. on March 14 from Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, Kan.
