UCO wins 38-21 in Texarkana, FHSU falls 30-22 in Mineral Water

Kansas City, Mo. – The MIAA split in bowl games this season as Central Oklahoma defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State 38-21 in the Texarkana Bowl and Fort Hays State fell 30-22 to Minnesota Duluth in the Mineral Water Bowl.
 
Central 38, Southwestern Oklahoma State 21
Central Oklahoma racked up 467 yards of total offense as they defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State 38-21 in the Live United Texarkana Bowl in Texarkana, Ark.
 
For the Bronchos TJ Eckert was 21 of 28 for 293 yards and two touchdowns while quarterback Chas Stallard rushed for a touchdown. Connor Pulley made five catches for 128 yards and a score while Josh Crockett pulled in a touchdown catch as well. On the ground Clay McKenzie carried the ball 23 times for 29 yards and two touchdowns.
 
On defense Malcolm Howard led the way with 11 tackles and Cade Shearwood finished with eight. David Busby and Cody Jones each picked off a pass as UCO finished with nine pass breakups.

 
Minnesota Duluth 30, Fort Hays State 22
Fort Hays State could not overcome a strong running game in a 30-22 loss to Minnesota Duluth in the Mineral Water Bowl in Excelsior Springs, Mo.
 
Offensively for the Tigers Treveon Albert was 7 for 18 for 78 yards hitting J.J. Lewis for a 32 yard score. Albert also added a touchdown on the ground scoring on a 72-yard run and finishing with 67 yards on the day.
 
On special Team Daniel Lindsey returned a kick 72-yards for a score in the fourth quarter. Defensively Nathan Shepherd had 14 tackles, Alex Schmidtbert finished with 13 and Brock Long had 12 tackles. Shepherd was named the Defensive MVP of the game.
