St. Paul, Minn. – Fourth seeded Central Oklahoma hit .306 as a team as they defeated fifth seeded Nebraska-Kearney 3-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament. UCO racked up ten blocks and six service aces as they earned the 25-10, 25-19 and 25-17 victory.
 
For the Bronchos Taylor Bevis led the way hitting .333 with a team best 13 kills while Jordan Spence nine kills and six blocks while hitting .429 on the afternoon. Deborah Njenje had nine kills and hit .304 while Barbara Jackson had seven digs and 13 digs. Katy Davis led the team with 40 assists while Whitney Gifford finished with 20 digs.
 
For the Lopers Annie Wolfe had eight kills and 11 digs while Erin Seele added a double-boule with 23 assists and 10 digs.
 
UNK finishes the season 29-7 after going 15-3 in the MIAA while Central Oklahoma will advance to face either top seeded Concordia St. Paul or eighth seeded Southwestern Oklahoma State. That semifinal match-up is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 from St. Paul, Minn.
