Kansas City, Mo. – The #8 team in the nation fell and another game needed overtime as week four came to a wild conclusion in MIAA football.
 
#1 Northwest Missouri 36, Central Oklahoma 13
#1 Northwest Missouri scored 23 second half points to pull away for a victory on the road at Central Oklahoma. NWMSU racked up 616 yards of total offense while holding UCO to just 169 yards on the day.
 
For the Bearcats Robert Burton rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns while Cameron Wilcox added 99 yards and two scores. Brady Bolles was 21 of 34 for 238 yards and one touchdown through the air. Eric Reimer led the way on the defense as he finished with five tackles, two for a loss and one sack.
 
For the Bronchos TJ Eckert was 11 of 33 for 183 yards and a touchdown. Josh Crockett caught the lone touchdown pass while Christian Hood caught seven passes for 126 yards. On the defensive side of the ball Chass Claspie had 14 total tackles and Malcolm Howard added 12 stops and an interception.
 
Central Missouri 45, Nebraska-Kearney 28
Central Missouri scored 38 second-half points as they came from behind to win over Nebraska-Kearney at home. UNK led 14-7 before 24 unanswered points from UCM put the game out of reach.
 
For the Mules Hayden Hawk was 18 of 29 for 347 yards and three touchdowns hitting Kyle Echols for 145 yards and two of those scores. LaVance Taylor added 157 yards on the ground finishing with three touchdowns of his own. On defense Alex Perlin had 11 tackles and Connor Smith added 11 stops while Josh Powell had one and a half sacks.
 
For the Lopers Bronson Marsh was 25 of 44 for 253 yards and three touchdowns and Romero Cotton rushed for 105 yards and a score. Allen Sampson, Cougar Williams and Tityus Mitchell all hauled in touchdown catches. Tyke Kozeal led the UNK defense with 14 tackles and George Brown picked off a pass.
 
Fort Hays State 7, #8 Pittsburg State 6
Fort Hays State held #8 Pittsburg State to just 240 yards of total offense and just two field goals as they pulled off the upset win on the road. FHSU allowed PSU in the red zone just one time in the game as it was only trip either team made into the red zone.
 
For the Tigers Ed Williams recovered a fumble following a De’Vante Bausby interception in the end zone for the only score. Treveon Albert threw for 67 yards and Edward Smith added 37 yards on the ground. On defense DeAndre James had a team best six tackles and Daniel Lindsey blocked a late PSU field goal attempt.
 
For the Gorillas Anthony Abenoja was 15 of 27 for 160 yards as Austin Daneil caught four passes for 51 yards. Connor Frazell connected on two field goals with a long of 37 yards in the game. On the defensive side of the ball Isaac Maselera had 10 tackles and De’Vante Bausby and Deron Washington each picked off a pass.
 
Emporia State 42, Northeastern State 35 OT
Emporia State needed two overtime possessions to defeat Northeastern State on the road in Tahlequah. NSU racked up 504 yards of total offense, but ESU managed to hold NSU in the second overtime possession.
 
For the Hornets Brent Wilson was 20 of 36 for 292 yards and four touchdowns while also adding one on the ground. Antonio Brown had a rushing score and Austin Willis and Kavaski Ervin each hauled in two touchdown catches. On defense Seth Culp had 11 tackles with Kadeem Satchell made 10 stops and Robert Dickerson picking off a pass.
 
For the RiverHawks Kevin Pantastico was 34 of 56 for 369 yards and two touchdowns also rushing for a score. Terrance Dixon had 12 carries for 58 yards and two touchdowns. On defense Carson Smallwood had seven tackles as did Steffon Herd and Peter Udoumoh picked off a pass.
 
Missouri Southern 42, Washburn 21
Missouri Southern racked up 286 yards on the ground as they picked up a victory at home over Washburn. WU had 533 yards of total offense but could not overcome five total turnovers.
 
For the Lions Scott Lathrop was five for five for 119 yards and a touchdown also adding 68 yards and a score on the ground. Giresse Forchu added two rushing scores, while Chris Jefferies hauled in the touchdown catch. On the defensive side Gaige Washington had 16 total tackles and Deon Price picked off two WU passes.
 
For the Ichabods Zeke Palmer was 27 of 47 through the air for 328 yards and two touchdowns. Vershon Moore finished with 109 yards rushing and a score and DaJuan Beard caught seven passes for 110 yards and score. On defense Calvin Keeney finished with 14 tackles including one for a loss.
