Kansas City, Mo. – Pittsburg State erased a large deficit, but could not complete the comeback in an 83-77 loss to Wayne State in the NCAA Division II Central Regional. PSU trailed by as much as 18 points in the first half, but used a run in the second half to take a lead with 7:39 to go, but could not overcome .550 shooting by the Wildcats.

Antquinita Reed led the way for the Gorillas with 24 points and seven rebounds. Lizzy Jeronimus added 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds also dishing out four assists. Cathy Brugman was four of nine from behind the three-point line for 12 points and Alex Muff added 10 points.

Pittsburg State finishes the year with a  23-8 overall record.
