Kansas City, Mo. – Top seeded Emporia State shot .480 from the field to earn a 97-65 win over Southwestern Oklahoma in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional. The Lady Hornets put up 55 first half points and got 21 of 22 free throws to fall as they advance to the semi finals of the regional.
Laura Patrick led the way for ESU scoring 27 points while Desiree Wylie finished with 11 points. Merissa Quick had a double-double on the afternoon scoring 17 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Both Rheanna Egli and Kelly Moten finished with nine points and four assists.
Emporia State will face the winner of Wayne State and Pittsburg State on March 15 at 6 pm. from Searcy, Ark.
