Bolivar, Mo. – The Missouri Southern Lion men finished 1, 2, 3 to take the men’s title while MSSU women made it a clean sweeping claiming the title in their race.
In the men’s race Nebraska-Kearney finished second with Pittsburg State coming in third. Central Missouri and Northwest Missouri rounded out the top five at the race.
Eric Schott won the individual championship finishing in 24:41.52 followed by teammates William Rush and Andrew Webster. Bryan Hill finished in fourth place for Nebraska-Kearney and Pittsburg State’s Austin Bogina finished out the top five.
Northwest Missouri’s Wick Cunningham was sixth with Missouri Southern’s Colton Wooldridge coming in seventh. Southwest Baptist’s Drew Cargill, MSSU’s Adrian Todd and Lindenwood’s Nicholas Stewart rounded out the top ten and earned All-MIAA honors.
In the women’s race Southwest Baptist was second and Pittsburg State finished in third overall. Fort Hays State was fourth as Northwest Missouri rounded out the top five.
Elizabeth Luckel of Southwest Baptist won the race on her home course with a time of 21:38.54. Hannah DeVries of Pittsburg State came in second with Central Missouri’s Megan Glamann finishing in third place. Emily Harris and Kindra Emberton of Missouri Southern rounded out the top five.
Finishing sixth in the race was Northwest Missouri’s Anne Herbert with Maddie Brown of Central Oklahoma coming in seventh. Dora Eastin of MSSU was eighth with Courtney Rogers and Katherine Sitzes of Southwest Baptist rounding out the top ten and earning All-MIAA honors.
Team will next head to the regional meet which is scheduled for Nov. 22 from Wayne, Nebraska.
