Kansas City, Mo. – Pittsburg State and Northwest Missouri each gained a share of the MIAA Football Championship as they both finish 10-1 on the season. The field for the Division II Football Championship will be released Nov. 16 during the selection show at 4 p.m. on www.ncaa.com.
 
#7 Northwest Missouri 31, Washburn 14
#7 Northwest Missouri took advantage of three interceptions as they picked up a victory at home over Washburn. NWMSU finishes the regular season 10-1 after holding WU to just 178 total yards in the game.
 
For the Bearcats Phil Jackson carried the ball nine times for 101 yards and Robert Burton III added 66 yards on the ground. Brady Bolles was 13 of 25 through the air for 113 yards and one touchdown also adding a score on the ground. On defense DJ Gnader led the way with eight tackles and Bryce Enyard picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown.
 
For the Ichabods Zeke Palmer was 14 of 37 through the air for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Brad Gourley and Adam Luthi each hauled in one touchdown catch each in the game. On defense Shay Wooten made 12 tackles, one sack and picked off a pass.
 
Missouri Western 22, Missouri Southern 21
Missouri Western scored with 3:22 left in the game to come from behind for a victory on the road at Missouri Southern. Missouri Western closes out the regular season with an overall record of 7-4.
 
For the Griffons Skyler Windmiller was 15 of 29 for 222 yards and two touchdowns hitting Dee Tolliver and Daylon Harper each hauling in a score. Raphael Spencer carried the ball 31 times for 145 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball Stephen Juergens had 13 tackles and Yami Alli made 11 stops.
 
For the Lions Michael Nelson, Jay McDowell and Giresse Forchu all found the end zone for scores. Anthony Cannon caught three passes for 98 yards with McDowell throwing for 117 yards on the day. On defense Kyjuan Tate had 12 tackles and Gaige Washington finished with 10 stops.
 
Nebraska-Kearney 42, Emporia State 40
Nebraska-Kearney held off a comeback by Emporia State to win their season finale at home. UNK led 42-14 at the half before holding on by two points to finish the regular season with a 3-8 record.
 
For the Lopers Romero Cotton carried the ball 23 times for 74 yards and three touchdowns also passing for a score. Bronson Marsh was 12 of 21 for 203 yards and one touchdown also rushing for 53 yards and a score. On defense Tyke Kozeal had 10 tackles and picked off a pass while Matt Bowman also added 10 stops.
 
For the Hornets Ty Reasnor was 29 of 49 for 258 yards and four touchdowns and Austin Willis returned a kick 89 yards for a touchdown. Justin Brown caught six passes for 77 yards and three scores. On defense Seth Culp had nine tackles and Lyndell Johnson and Deshawn Dinwiddie each picked off a pass.
 
Lindenwood 35, Northeastern State 16
Lindenwood got 269 rushing yards as they picked up a victory over Northeastern State on the road. LWU finished with 454 yards of total offense as they finish with a 2-9 record on the season.
 
For the Lions Connor Harris carried the ball 11 times for 188 yards and four touchdowns. Graham Lindman was 20 of 28 for 185 yards and one touchdown hitting Jared Rayford for the score. On the defensive side of the ball Harris had a team high 14 tackles including two sacks.
 
For the RiverHawks Kevin Pantastico was 23 of 43 for 250 yards and one touchdown. Prince McJunkins caught four passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. On defense Kenneth Davis led the way with 11 tackles and Justin Carlisle picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown.
 
Fort Hays State 45, Central Missouri 17
Fort Hays State outscored Central Missouri 28-3 in the first half as they picked up a victory on the road. FHSU took advantage of two forced fumbles as they finish the regular season with a 7-4 record.
 
For the Tigers Treveon Albert was 9 of 17 for 95 yards and three touchdowns through the air hitting Ed Williams for two scores. On the ground Edward Smith carried the ball 12 times for 144 yards and a touchdown Kenneth Iheme had 114 yards and Quinten Darby added two goal line scores. On defense Brock Long had 11 tackles and Justin McPhail added nine stops.
 
For the Mules Hayden Hawk was 20 of 38 for 172 yards through the air and Alex Strong returned a blocked put for a score. On the ground LaVance Taylor led the way with 149 yards and Ray Harris scored on his only carry of the game. On defense Ricky Spratley led the way with 11 tackles and Travion Vaughn added eight stops.
 
#6 Pittsburg State 41, Central Oklahoma 14
#6 Pittsburg State racked up 531 yards of total offense as they defeated Central Oklahoma on the road. PSU’s defense held UCO to just 222 yards of total offense as they finish the regular season with a 10-1 record.
 
For the Gorillas Anthony Abenoja was 21 of 29 for 290 yards through the air with one touchdown. Marquise Cushon had 68 yards receiving and a score and rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball Spencer Brown had six tackles and Deron Washington made five stops.
 
For the Bronchos Jake Gandara carried the ball 11 times for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Chas Stallard was 10 of 20 through the air 71 yards adding 44 yards on the ground. On the defensive side of the ball Matt Pruitt led the way with 14 tackles and Chass Glaspie finished with 10 stops.
