WEEK NINE COMES TO A CLOSE IN MIAA FOOTBALL

Two remain with just one loss, and two more have just two losses

Kansas City, Mo. – A come from behind win and some strong defensive perfomances highlighted week nine in MIAA football.
 
Fort Hays State 24, Nebraska-Kearney 17
After falling behind 10-0 at the half Fort Hays State scored 24 unanswered second half points to win on the road at Nebraska-Kearney. FHSU racked up 242 yards rushing as they moved to 5-4 this season.
 
For the Tigers Treveon Albert passed for 72 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 61 yards and a score. Kenneth Iheme carried the ball 22 times for 152 yards and a touchdown as Ed Williams added a 61-yard touchdown reception. On defense Michael Jordan led the way with 12 tackles and Alex Schmidtberger picked off a pass.
 
For the Lopers Bronson March passed for 173 yards and a touchdown rushing the ball 24 times for 64 yards and a score. Allen Sampson caught six passes for 76 yards and Dalton Sealey caught two passes including one for a score. On the defensive side of the ball Tyke Kozeal had a team best 13 tackles and George Brown added eight stops.
 
#8 Northwest Missouri 40, Missouri Western 3
#8 Northwest Missouri racked up 496 yards of total offense as they picked up a victory at home over Missouri Western. NWMSU held MWSU to just 78 yards in the game as they moved to 8-1 on the year.
 
For the Bearcats Robert Burton III carried the ball 27 times for 157 yards and Cameron Wilcox had 125 yards and a touchdown. Brady Bolles was 10 of 21 for 88 yards and a touchdown rushing for 41 yards and two scores. On defense Eric Reimer had eight tackles and Marcus Jones had an interception.
 
For the Griffons Skyler Windmiller passed for 33 yards and Raphael Spencer added 29 yards on the ground. On defense Stephen Juergens led the way for his team with 17 tackles while Meshack Kennedy added 14 stops and an interception. Michael Jordan added 11 tackles and Marc Harrison picked off an opponents pass.
 
Washburn 36, Emporia State 10
Washburn held Emporia State to just 213 yards of total offense as they earned a victory at home. Washburn added 432 yards of the their own as they moved to 3-6 on the season.
 
For the Ichabods Zeke Palmer was 19 of 30 for 233 yards and rushed for a touchdown. On the ground Vershon Moore carried the ball 31 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns. On defense Shay Wooten had eight tackles and Calvin Keeney and Dwayne Joseph each picked off a pass.
 
For the Hornets Ty Reasnor was 12 of 20 for 125 yards and a touchdown. Kavaski Ervin caught six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball Deshawn Dinwiddie had 11 tackles and Kadeem Satchell blocked a field goal.
 
Central Oklahoma 28, Northeastern State 10
Central Oklahoma came up with 268 yards through the air at they defeated Northeastern State at home. UCO averaged 6.3 yards per play as they moved to 7-2 on the year.
 
For the Bronchos Chas Stallard was 24 of 32 for 268 yards and one touchdown adding 48 yards on the ground with two scores. Jake Gandara ran for 59 yards on a touchdown and Christian Hood hauled in a touchdown catch. On defense Michael Harris led the way with 12 tackles and Omari Cole picked off a pass.
 
For the RiverHawks Kevin Pantastico was 14 for 31 through the air for 180 yards and a touchdown. Garrett Powell hauled in six catches for 98 yards including a long of 37 and one touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball Kenneth Davis had 12 tackles and Steffon Herd added nine stops.
 
Central Missouri 48, Lindenwood 28
The game saw over 900 yards of total offense as Central Missouri defeated LIndenwood at home. UCM had 470 yards of that offense as they moved to 7-2 on the season.
 
For the Mules Hayden Hawk was 19 of 28 for 286 yards and three touchdowns through the air. LaVance Taylor carried the ball 25 times for 146 yards and Ray Harris rushed for a score. On defense Sam Smith and Kenny Mings each picked off two passes as UCM finished with six interceptions.
 
For the Lions Dillon Miller was 19 of 30 through the air for 197 yards and two touchdowns. Jared Rayford added 44 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball Roderick Ryles had 12 tackles and Connor Harris added 11 stops.
 
#7 Pittsburg State 41, Missouri Southern 10
#7 Pittsburg State held Missouri Southern to just 81 yards rushing as the picked up a victory on the road. PSU racked up 438 yards of total offense as they move to 8-1 on the season.
 
For the Gorillas Anthony Abenoja was 16 of 25 for 267 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Gavin Lutman had five catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns as Marquise Cushon had two catches for 63 yards and a score. On defense Heath Wilson led the way with 11 tackles and Jason Peete had two interceptions.
 
For the Lions Scott Lathrop was 10 of 17 for 211 yards and a touchdown on the day. Anthony Cannon led the way making six receptions for 160 yards and a single score. On the defensive side of the ball Johnquavious McBride had nine tackles as he and Breon Matlock each picked off a pass.
