Kansas City, Mo. – Two teams remain a top the league at 7-1 after eight weeks in MIAA football.
 
Central Oklahoma 35, Washburn 26
Central Oklahoma scored with 3:40 to go in the game to help hold off a Washburn comeback and win at home. The game saw 943 yards of total offense as UCO moved to 6-2 on the year.
 
For the Bronchos Chas Stallard passes for 112 yards and a touchdown rushed for 158 yards and a score. Jake Gandara carried the ball 16 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns while Caleb Moss hauled in a touchdown catch. On defense Michael Harris had 13 tackles and Matt Pruitt had 10 tackles and picked off a pass.
 
For the Ichabods Zeke Palmer was 24 of 40 for 249 yards and two touchdowns hitting Jordan Hart and Connor Crimmins for scores. Vershon Moore carried the ball 19 times for 154 yards on the day. On the defensive side of the ball Calvin Kenney made eight tackles and Shay Wooten and Peter Pfannenstiel each made seven stops.
 
Central Missouri 56, Northeastern State 14
Central Missouri racked up 649 yards of total offense as they picked up a win on the road at Northeastern State. UCM held NSU to 276 yards of total offense as they moved to 6-2 on the season.
 
For the Mules LaVance Taylor had 175 yards rushing with one score and Ray Harris added 169 yards and a touchdown. Hayden Hawk was 15 of 26 for 244 yards and two touchdowns and Evan Campbell added 77 yards on the ground with two scores. On defense Sam Smith had a team high eight tackles and Monteze Latimore intercepted a pass.
 
For the RiverHawks Kevin Pantastico was 16 of 28 for 189 yards and a touchdown pass to Garrett Powell. On the ground Joel Rockmore carried the ball 13 times for 53 yards and a score. On the defensive side of the ball Steffon Herd had 11 tackles and Carson Smallwood added seven stops.
 
Missouri Southern 31, Lindenwood 17
Missouri Southern had 353 yards of offense on the ground as they picked up a win on the road at Lindenwood. MSSU forced four LWU turnovers as they moved to 4-4 through eight games this season.
 
For the MSSU Lions Giresse Forchu led three runners with more than 50 yards as he had 143 yards and a touchdown. Will Gregory, Shannon Saunders and Scott Lathrop had one rushing touchdown each. On defense Breon Matlock, Johnquavious McBride and Michael Burks finished with one interception each.
 
For the LWU Lions Graham Lindman was 18 of 38 for 265 yards through the air and a touchdown. Dillon Miller also threw a touchdown pass as Lavorrie Johnson and Greg Coble had touchdown catches. On the defensive side of the ball Connor Harris had 18 tackles and Roderick Ryles had 13 stops and a fumble recovery.
 
#10 Northwest Missouri 29, Fort Hays State 10
#10 Northwest Missouri held Fort Hays State to just 186 yards of total offense as they picked up a victory on the road. NWMSU had 449 yards of offense on their own as they moved to 7-1 on the season.
 
For the Bearcats Brady Bolles was 15 of 24 for 168 yards in the air also rushing for a score. Cameron Wilcox had 103 yards rushing with one score while Robert Burton added 16 carries for 82 yards and two scores. On defense DJ Gnader had seven tackles and Kenton Hulett, Kevin Arnold and Brandon Yost had one sack each.
 
For the Tigers Treveon Albert had 98 yards through the air and added 56 yards on the ground with one touchdown. Ed Williams caught six passes for 83 yards on the afternoon. On defense Brock Long and Justin McPhail each had 13 tackles and Michael Jordan picked off a pass.
 
#9 Pittsburg State 36, Nebraska-Kearney 21
Trailing 21-13 in the third quarter #9 Pittsburg State scored 23 unanswered points to earn a win at home over Nebraska-Kearney. PSU had 571 yards of total offense as they moved to 7-1 on the year.
 
For the Gorillas Anthony Abenoja was 28 of 47 for 377 yards and two touchdown through the air. Marquise had eight catches for 134 yards while Jamal Tyler had a rushing and a receiving touchdown. On defense Keeston Terry had seven tackles and Isaac Maselera had six stops.
 
For the Lopers Bronson Marsh was 9 of 17 through the air for 197 yards and two touchdowns adding 56 rushing yards and one score. Cougar Williams had two catches for 79 yards and a score and Tityus Mitchell had one catch for 74 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball Tyke Kozeal had 14 tackles and Dillon Loschen had eight stops.
 
Emporia State 30, Missouri Western 10
Emporia State forced four turnovers as they went on the road to Missouri Western and picked up a victory. Emporia State was outgained 509 to 335, but managed to leave with a 4-4 season record.
 
For the Hornets Braxton Marstall was 24 of 38 for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Kavaski Ervin had nine catches for 100 yards while Mitchell Foote and Jordan Tice hauled in touchdown catches. Lyndell Johnson returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown and Austin Morton hit three field goals.
 
For the Griffons Skyler Windmiller was 26 of 52 for 339 yards and one touchdown hitting Stephon Weaver for 114 yards. Raphael Spencer had 108 yards rushing and Josh Walker had 108 yards receiving. On defense Stephen Juergens had nine tackles and Michael Jordan added eight stops.
