Kansas City, Mo. --
The battle for the league title continues as the MIAA football teams move into week eight.

Central Missouri at Northeastern State
Central Missouri will hit the road for Northeastern State as they look to pick up their sixth win of the season and league best fifth straight. MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week LaVance Taylor is averaging 143.1 yards per game rushing with 11 touchdowns. Hayden Hawk is averaging 221.7 yards per game passing with eight touchdowns adding six scores on the ground. On defense Ricky Spratley has a team best 68 tackles and J.R. Alexander has three interceptions. For the RiverHawks Kevin Pantastico is averaging 201.3 yards per game through the air with five touchdowns. Garrett Powell has caught 42 passes for 502 yards and a team best three touchdowns. On defense Steffon Herd is leading the way with 50 tackles while Kenneth Davis and Lane Dortch each have 42 stops.

Washburn at Central Oklahoma
Central Oklahoma will play host to Washburn in week seven as they look to bounce back from their second loss of the season. The Bronchos are led by Jake Gandara who has 727 yards on the ground with a team best seven touchdowns. Chas Stallard has 1,246 yards through the air for five touchdowns adding six scores on the ground. Chass Glaspie is leading the defense with 70 total tackles while Cody Jones has picked off four passes on the season. For the Ichabods Vershon Moore has rushed for 503 yards and has found the end zone three times this season. Through the air Zeke Palmer is averaging 228.2 yards per game passing with five touchdowns and DaJuan Beard has five receiving touchdowns. On defense Calvin Keeney has 81 tackles and has picked off a pass.

Missouri Southern at Lindenwood
Missouri Southern will be on the road at Lindenwood as they look to move back to the .500 mark for the year. Missouri Southern has three running backs averaging more than 50 yards per game this season led by Giresse Forchu who is averaging 68.4 yards rushing with 11 touchdowns. Michael Nelson and Shannon Saunders have each scored five times this season and Scott Lathrop has thrown three touchdown passes. On defense Johnquavious McBride has 58 tackles and Gaige Washington has 56 stops. For the Lions Graham Lindman is averaging 245.0 yards per game passing with six touchdowns. Jaron Alexander has two receiving touchdowns and Marvin Byrd has rushed for three scores. On the defensive side of the ball Connor Harris has 89 tackles and has also picked off two passes.

Nebraska-Kearney at #9 Pittsburg State
#9 Pittsburg State will look to continue a three game winning streak as they play host to Nebraska-Kearney, who is ridiing two game winning streak, in week seven. The Gorillas are led by Anthony Abenoja who is averaging 283.1 yards per game passing with 17 touchdowns while rushing for two scores as well. Gavin Lutman has hauled in seven touchdown passes and Marquise Cushon has brought in four as they each average more than 90 yards per game receiving. MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week Colby Hall has 31 tackles with one interception and one fumble forced. For the Lopers Bronson Marsh is averaging 88 yards per game rushing with nine touchdowns and he has passed for six touchdowns on the year. Allen Sampson and Cougar Williams have each caught two touchdown passes. On defense Tyke Kozeal is leading the way with 88 tackles George Brown has picked off two passes.

#10 Northwest Missouri at Fort Hays State
#10 Northwest Missouri will look to bounce back from their first loss as they hit the road for Fort Hays State. The Bearcats are led by Brady Bolles who has completed 132 passes for 1,603 yards and 12 touchdowns adding four on the ground. Phil Jackson and Robert Burton  have each rushed for six scores while Korey Jackson has a team high three touchdown catches. On defense Eric Reimer has 41 tackles and Jared Fox has picked off three passes. For the Tigers Treveon Albert is 100 of 184 for 1,119 yards and eight touchdowns. Edward Smith has rushed for a team high four touchdowns and Ed Williams has hauled in three touchdown catches. On the defensive side of the ball Brock Long has 62 tackles and Justin McPhail has 61 stops.

Emporia State at Missouri Western
Emporia State will look to get to .500 as Missouri Western looks to pick up their sixth win in the MIAA Television Network Game of the Week from St. Joseph. The Griffons are led by Raphael Spencer who is averaging 110.3 yards per game rushing with six touchdowns. Skyler Windmiller has four touchdowns through the air and has added one on the ground. On defense Stephen Juergens has 61 tackles and Michael Jordan has picked off four passes. The Hornets are led by Antonio Brown who is averaging 74.4 yards per game rushing with five touchdowns. Austin Willis has a team best six receiving touchdowns and Kavaski Ervin has caught four passes for scores. On the defensive side of the ball Jason Tetuan has a team best 46 tackles and Seth Culp, Kadeem Satchell and Deveon Dinwiddie have each picked off two passes.
