Use a 5-4 win over Winona State to punch ticket to Salem

Kansas City, Mo. -- Central Oklahoma got a run in the top of the fifth inning to break a tie and then held on for a 5-4 win over Winona State to win the NCAA Division II Central Super Regional.

UCO jumped out 4-0 after the top of the third, but four unanswered runs in the bottom of the third and fourth squared things up for WSU. The Bronchos would then grab  run in the top of the fifth to punch their ticket to the NCAA National Softball Championship in Salem, Va.

For the Bronchos Nicole Workman was three for four with a run scored and a run driven in. Kacie Edwards was two for four with a runs scored and one driven in. Ally Dziadula, Kaylee Brunson and Haley Weather also each scored a run while Same Cool and Devyn Frazier added an RBI each. Kalynn Schrock pitched all seven inning striking out eleven.

Central Oklahoma will face Armstrong Atlantic in the first game of the Championship on May 23 at 12 p.m. from Salem, Va.
