Defeat Minot State 5-2 with seventh inning heroics

Kansas City, Mo. -- It took a walk-off home run, but top seeded Fort Hays State advanced in the NCAA Central Regional with a 5-2 win over Minot State today in Hays, Kan.

Fort Hays State jumped out to an early lead, then fell behind 2-1 in the fourth. The Tigers tied it in the sixth and got a three-run home run from Maddie Holub to come out on top in the bottom of the seventh.

For the Tigers Bianca Adame was two for four with two runs scored and a base stolen. Courtney Dobson went three for four and scored two runs while driving in one. Dannie Brinkmann was one for three and drove in a run as well. Holub went one for four with the game winning home run. In the circle she went seven innings striking out 12 to pick up the win.

The Tigers will need to win two as they face Central Oklahoma in the sub-regional championship tomorrow at 1 p.m.
