Kansas City, Mo. – Northwest Missouri won the Super Region Three Championship to advance in the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs and Pittsburg State claimed the Mineral Water Bowl title.
 
Northwest Missouri 59, St. Cloud State 21
Northwest Missouri rolled up 296 yards on the ground as they defeated St. Cloud State in the Super Region Three Championship. The Bearcats had 541 yards of total offense as they advance to the NCAA Division II National semi-finals.
 
For the Bearcats Phil Jackson rushed for 117 yards and four touchdown while Billy Creason added 99 yards on the ground and three scores. Trevor Adams was 18 of 21 on the day for 212 yards through the air. On defense Jacob Vollstedt had six tackles and recovered a fumble and Bryce Enyard returned a kick for a touchdown.
 
Northwest Missouri will face off with Grand Valley State on Dec. 14 in the final four of the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs.
 
Pittsburg State 90, Southwest Minnesota State 28
Pittsburg State set three team bowl records and one individual record including scoring 90 points. The 90 points is 38 points more than the previous record of 52 points scored by Northeast Oklahoma A&M in 1993. The also added a record 666 yards of total offense and scored a record ten total offensive touchdowns and 12 total touchdowns.
 
For the Gorillas Anthony Abenoja was 17 of 24 for 323 yards and a Mineral Water Bowl record five passing touchdowns. Jeff Seybold rushed for 185 yards and a score and John Brown caught seven passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns as eight different PSU players found the end zone. On defense Joe Uzzel returned a fumble eight yards for a score and Tyler Disney had a team best 12 tackles and a 99 yard interception return. Nate Dreiling had only two tackles, but set an new MIAA career tackles record.
