Kansas City, Mo. – After two goals were scored in the first eights minutes fourth seeded Washburn needed a shutout to pull out a 1-1 (4-2 PK) victory over Nebraska-Kearney in the MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament.

The scoring got going in the fourth minute when Caysie Beetley connected  a pass from Cadence Bourne to take the 1-0 lead. McKinzie Rieber would score in the seventh minute off a pass from Becka Talcott to tie the game up.

The game would remain scoreless for the next 103 minutes as the two teams headed for a shootout. Washburn would then use a 4-2 advantage in penalty kicks to pull out the victory. Tori Fuglister held strong in the shootout and stopped five UNK shots to pick up the victory.

The Ichabods will face eighth seeded Central Oklahoma at 4 p.m. on Nov. 8 from College Boulevard Activities Complex in Olathe, Kan.
