Kansas City, Mo. – Emporia State fell 55-13 on the road at Minnesota-Duluth in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs. The Hornets were held to just 171 yards of total offense as they finished 9-2 on the season.
For the Hornets Corben Jones was 12 of 31 for 173 yards and a touchdown. Austin Willis hauled in a 55-yard touchdown catch in the ballgame. On defense Jordan Sanders finished with seven total tackles.
Northwest Missouri, who had the first round bye, will now face Minnesota-Duluth on Nov. 30 at 12 noon from Bearcat Field in Maryville, Mo.
