Kansas City, Mo. -- As a special New Year's present MIAA women's basketball returns to the floor for week eight and nine.

Central Missouri ready to face new year

Central Missouri will face Arkansas Tech before facing Southwest Baptist as they resume MIAA play in the new year. They are led by MIAA Athlete of the Week Keuna Flax who averaged 25.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in her first two games of the season. Nicole Caddell is averaging 12.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game this season.
Central Oklahoma preps for three contests

Central Oklahoma will face three match-ups as they ring in the start to the 2013 section of the season. The Bronchos are led by Alyssa Fuxa who is averaging 15.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Jill Bryan is averaging 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest.
Emporia State opens 2013 against two top ten teams

Emporia State will not see their MIAA road get any easier as they face two teams in the nation’s top ten to open 2013. The Hornets are led by Laura Patrick who is averaging 15.4 points per game and Desiree Wylie with 8.1 rebounds per game. Merissa Quick is averaging 11.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest.
#10 Fort Hays State looks to stay perfect in 2013

Fort Hays State has moved up to #10 in the rankings and will travel to open their 2013 MIAA slate. The Tigers are led by Kate Lehman with 18.1 points and 8.8 boards and Katelyn Edwards with 13.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per contest this season.
Lincoln hits the road to open 2013

Lincoln will return to MIAA play on the road in Kirksville, Mo. The Blue Tigers are led by Arianna Walker who is averaging 15.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Freddie Sims is averaging 14.3 points per contest this year.
