Rhesa Sumrell, Softball Coach
Central Missouri, 1988-2006 & Missouri Western 1976-87
Sumrell is the winningest coach in Jennies softball history, posting a record of 614-359 overall. She posted a career record of 822-527 and ranks 15th all-time in Division II coaching victories. The Jennies made the NCAA Divsion II Tournament seven times during her tenure. Sumrell won four MIAA titles at the helm of the Jennies and two regional titles in 1989 and 1994. She coached 11 seasons at Missouri Western compiling a record of 194-150 with three consecutive trips to the NAIA National Tournament. Sumrell was named the NAIA Coach of the Year in 1982 after leading Missouri Western to the national title. She was inducted into the UCM Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. She is also a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame and the Missouri Western Hall of Fame.
