Gene Millentree - Football & Basketball Official (1987-2016)
Gene Millentree served as an MIAA football official for 25 years (1987-2012). Millentree's football officiating career was highlighted with six straight NCAA Division II Playoff games (2004-09) and the 2004 Mineral Water Bowl that featured Washburn and Northern State. Millentree was also part of the officiating team for the MIAA Fall Classic between Northwest Missouri and Pittsburg State in the 2008 and 2011 seasons. Millentree served as an MIAA men’s basketball official for 27 years (1989-2016). He has officiated 14 MIAA men's basketball tournaments in the historic Municipal Auditorium (2003-16), including five MIAA championship games. Millentree was a member of officiating crews from five different NCAA Division II South Central Region Championships. In 2006, he officiated the regional championship game and went on to officiate the first and semifinal rounds of Division II Men's Elite Eight Tournament. The Excelsior Springs, Mo., native received his Bachelor's degree at William Jewell and went on to earn his Masters of Education (MEd) at Central Missouri and earned a Specialist Degree in Secondary School Administration from UMKC in Kansas City, Mo.
