Paul was an All-American running back for ESU and was named the 2003 College Division Academic All-America of the Year by CoSIDA.  The native of Enterprise, Kan. was the 2004 Ken B. Jones Award winner.  He led the MIAA in total rushing yards as a junior and senior.  He led ESU to nine wins in both 2002 and 2003. He gained a Mineral Water Bowl record 224 yards and was named offensive MVP as the Hornets defeated Winona State to cap a 9-3 season in 2002.  He gained 1,730 yards as ESU won a share of their first MIAA football championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II Playoffs for the first time in school history as a senior. He was named First-Team Academic All-America following his junior and senior seasons.
