Hall of Fame
In a career that was cut short by injury, Alexandr Alexin is arguably the finest distance runner in Central Missouri history. He won four individual national championships and was a seven-time All-American. He won the NCAA-II Cross Country in 1996, UCM’s only cross country national championship. He then won the 1996 and 1997 indoor mile national championship and won the 1996 outdoor 1,500-meter title. He still holds the UCM record in the indoor mile (4:05.10), and the outdoor 1500 (3:45.67). He is third all-time in the indoor 3,000 (8:21.93) and eighth in the outdoor 800 (1:52.63). He holds the UCM Multipurpose Building record in the indoor mile (4:08.02). He was a part of UCM teams that won three MIAA championships in cross country, one regional title and helped the Mules to a runner-up national finish in 1997; his track teams at UCM won two MIAA crowns, a regional title and finished as runner-up at the national meet in 1997.
