#8 Washburn vs. #9 Northeastern State
Eighth seeded Washburn will face #9 Northeastern State at 7 p.m. on March 3 for an opening round game from Topeka.
 
The Ichabods went 8-11 during league play and are averaging 68.9 points while allowing 60.0 points per contest this season. They are led by Taylor Ignoto who is averaging 14.0 points and Casyn Buchman with 12.6 points and 3.3 assists per game. Honors Duvall is averaging 12.0 points and 6.1 rebounds while Jayna Smith averaging 6.3 rebounds per game.
 
The RiverHawks were 7-12 in league play and enter the week averaging 54.1 points while allowing 61.5 points per game this season. They are led by Chelsey Beathard who is averaging 9.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. Fontana Tate comes into the game averaging 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest.
 
The winner of the game will face top seeded Fort Hays State at 12 noon on March 6 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
