MIAA STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The mission of the MIAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, maintaining athletic integrity, acting as a liason between the student-athletes and the administration, and fostering a positive student-athlete image.

MIAA SAAC #WECARE
The MIAA SAAC initiative is titled “WE CARE” with each letter representing a foundational element to the MIAA student-athlete experience. The program is designed to highlight the commitment made by MIAA schools to the development of the “whole person”, and preparing student-athletes to be successful during college and after graduation.

• Wellness: The MIAA cares about student-athlete wellness, with a focus on mental health and physical well-being.  
• Education: The MIAA cares about student-athlete educational opportunities and their path to graduation. 

• Compassion: The MIAA cares about student-athlete compassion and community service, and opportunities that they have to serve others and help in the community. 
• Athletics: The MIAA cares about student-athlete skill development, and opportunities to excel and achieve in their chosen sport. 
• Respect: The MIAA cares about student-athlete respect and sportsmanship, and opportunities to display this to teachers, students, coaches, administrators, teammates, opponents, and officials. 
• Engagement: The MIAA cares about student-athlete engagement at their institution and in their community.  Engagement and involvement is the key to success for college students.
