KANSAS CITY, MO. - Northwest Missouri and Rogers State advanced in the 2020 MIAA Men's Basketball Championships presented by Citizens Bank & Trust. No. 1 Northwest defeated No. 9 Lincoln as No. 2 Rogers State escaped No. 10 Pittsburg State. Below are game recaps from today's games.

No. 1 Northwest Missouri State 75, No. 9 Lincoln 54 - Box Score
?The No. 1 seeded-Northwest Missouri State Bearcats defeated the No. 9 seeded-Lincoln Blue Tigers, in the quarterfinal match-up of the 2020 MIAA Men's Basketball Championship, 75-54. The win for Northwest extends its MIAA Tournament record for consecutive wins to 13.
Ryan Hawkins led all scorers with a current tournament-high 31 points. Diego Bernard and Trevor Hudgins added 14 points apiece for the Bearcats with Bernard adding a game-high five assists. Hawkins led the team with nine rebounds as well. NW shot a blazing 58.3% from the field, including 47.8% from behind the arc.
Marcus Cohen was the only player in double-figures for the Blue Tigers with 10 points. L’Kielynn Taylor led Lincoln with five rebounds and Cohen led the team three assists. After yesterday’s victory, LU has won at least one game in Kansas City in back-to-back seasons.
Northwest will take on Friday’s winner between No. 4 Missouri Western and the No. 5 Washburn on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Griffons and Ichabods face-off tomorrow at 6 p.m.
No. 2 Rogers State 71, No. 7 Pittsburg State 69 - Box Score
No. 2 Rogers State survived a scare from No. 10 Pittsburg State and snuck out of the quarterfinals with a 71-69 victory, in their first-ever MIAA Championship. Rogers State’s Tavian Davis hit what turned out to be the game-winning free throws with 2.7 seconds left in the game. Pittsburg State’s shot to tie the game rimmed out as time expired.
Marques Sumner led the Hillcats with 19 points, followed by Brewster Peacock with 11, and Davis with 10. Christopher Miller led Rogers State with seven rebounds. No Hillcat player had more than one assist.
Pittsburg State was led by Marcel Cherry with 15 points, followed by AJ Walker and Jah-Kobe Womack with 11 points apiece. The Gorillas were just the second-ever 10 seed to win a game in the MIAA Championship and made the quarterfinal round for the third consecutive season.
No. 2 Rogers State advances to the semifinals to take on the winner of No. 3 Missouri Southern and No. 6 Northeastern State. RSU and the winner of MSSU and NSU will play on Saturday, March 7 at 8:15 p.m. Missouri Southern and Northeastern State play Friday, March 6 at 8:15 p.m.
