MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. - Central Oklahoma finished second in the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational, which also served as the first of four MIAA designed events for the 2019-2020 season. The Bronchos carded an 8-under-par 568 in the weather-shortened two-round event to be the highest finisher from the Association.
Northeastern State and Washburn tied for third place with a team total of two-over-par 578. The fourth team from the MIAA to finish in the top 10 was Central Missouri with a five-over-par 581. Missouri Southern also represented the conference in the top 10 after recording a total score of 589.
Individually, Jacob Lackey of UCO led the MIAA with a 6-under-par 138 to finish second overall in the field. Washburn’s Blake Allen was the next highest finisher from the Association with a 4-under-par 140 to finish tied for third overall. A trio of MIAA golfers rounded out the top 10 with a 2-under-par 142. The golfers were Ian Barnes of UCM, Blake Murray of UCO, and Edwin Blomander of Rogers State.
The MWSU Holiday Inn Express Men’s Invitational at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri will be the site of the MIAA’s second designated event. The tournament hosted by Missouri Western will be held on Monday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 8.
