MIAA Announces Tennis Championship Brackets, MIAA Network To Stream Women's Championship Match

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA announced the bracket for the 2019 Tennis Championships on April 26-28 at the OKC Tennis Center in Oklahoma City. The MIAA Network will stream the Women’s Championship match at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 28.

Washburn earned the top seed in the women’s brackets after completing the conference schedule undefeated. The Ichabods were also tabbed first in the latest NCAA Central Regional ranking. Central Oklahoma was slotted as the second seed after it finished with an 8-1 conference record. UCO was also second in the Central Regional ranking from the NCAA.

Northwest Missouri was the third seed in the women’s bracket as Southwest Baptist was tabbed at the fourth seed and Northeastern State was the sixth seed. NW owned tiebreakers over SBU and NSU as SBU won the tiebreaker over NSU. Both Northwest and Southwest Baptist were ranked fifth and sixth respectively in the Central Regional rankings.

Emporia State will be the sixth seed followed by Nebraska Kearney as the seventh seed. Missouri Western rounds out the women’s bracket in the eighth spot. For the official MIAA women’s tennis bracket, click here.

For the men’s bracket, Southwest Baptist is the top seed following an undefeated conference season. SBU is also ranked first in the NCAA Central Regional rankings. Northwest Missouri is the second seed after it completed MIAA play with just one loss. The Bearcats also cracked the regional rankings in the sixth slot.

Washburn earned the third seed for the men’s championship. The Ichabods narrowly edged out Emporia State, who will be the fourth seed in the bracket. For the official MIAA men’s tennis bracket, click here.
