St. Joseph, Mo. - The Holiday Inn Express
Classic served as the site of the second fall MIAA Men's Golf designated event. The 54-hole tournament was held October 7 & 8 at the par 71, 6,582 yard St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Central Missouri, led by individual co-champions Matt Hoemann and Sam Parrott, captured the team championship over a field of 20 teams with a three-round team total of 857 ( 5). This was their third team title this fall season. Washburn finished in second place with a team total of 862 ( 10) followed by Central Oklahoma in third place with a team total of 871 ( 19).
Central Missouri's Hoemann and Parrott tied for the individual title with a two-under total of 211 to best the field of 100 players. Central Oklahoma's Evan Pennington finished in third just one shot back of the leaders with a one-under par (212) finish. Washburn teammates, Andrew Beckler and Griffin Mott rounded out the top five MIAA finishers as both tied for fourth place at even par (213) respectively.
This concludes the fall MIAA designated events for the men's teams. The MIAA will hold two designated events next spring concluding with the MIAA Championship on April 20-22 at Shangri-La Golf Course & Resort in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
