KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA has announced its 2019 Preseason Baseball Coaches Poll. 2018 MIAA Tournament Champions, Central Missouri was voted to the top spot with 115 points. The Mules earned six first-place votes in the poll as well.
2018 MIAA regular season co-champion Central Oklahoma was picked to finish second. The Bronchos had 107 points and three first-place votes. Pittsburg State trailed UCO by just five points as the Gorillas received 102 points and two first-place votes. In fourth was Missouri Western with 81 points. The Griffons narrowly edged Emporia State out as the Hornets were slotted in fifth with 80 points.
Missouri Southern was sixth followed by a tie for seventh between Lindenwood and 2018 MIAA regular season co-champions Northwest Missouri. In ninth was Northeastern State as Washburn was tabbed 10th. Southwest Baptist came in at 11th as Fort Hays State rounded out the 2019 Coaches Preseason Poll.
