MIAA Announces 2018 Fall Academic Honors

Over 800 Student-Athletes Featured On The Academic Honor Roll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA has announced its academic honors for the 2018 fall sports seasons. The awards include Academic Excellence, Scholar-Athlete and Academic Honor Roll for football, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.

Over 60 student-athletes earned the distinguished Academic Excellence Award. An MIAA Academic Excellence Award recipient must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 4.00 or better at the certifying member institution. The honoree also must have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. For the complete list of Academic Excellence members, click here.

This season’s scholar-athlete list includes 100 student-athletes. To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete an individual must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.50 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. If competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, the student-athlete must earn All-MIAA honors. To see the complete list of Scholar-Athletes, please click here.

The achievement of Academic Honor Roll was accomplished by more than over 800 student-athletes. To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The Academic Awards for all first-year student-athletes (freshmen and transfers) will be announced at the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year.
