Kansas City, Mo. --
The MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Meet will be held May 5-7 on the campus of Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Mo.

Decathlon - The men’s decathlon is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start on the opening day of the MIAA Championships. Coming into the weekend Central Missouri’s Blake Seitz is ranked #8 in the country at 6,914 points which he achieved at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. Right behind hi in the national rankings is Pittsburg State’s Tanner McNutt who scored 6,904 points at Angelo State David Noble Relays. Jared Page, also of Pittsburg State, is 14th in the nation after scoring 6,782 points at the Angelo State meet.
Heptathlon - The heptathlon is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on the opening day of the MIAA Championships. Pittsburg State’s Emilyn Dearman enters the weekend with the nation’s top point total scoring 5,924 points at the Angelo State David Noble Relays which has her automatically qualified for the national championship. Monica Howard of Emporia State has the league’s second best point total scoring 4,720 points at the Kansas Relays. Audrey Wichmann enters the meet third overall as she compiled 4,668 points at the Mt. SAC Relays. 

In the Field
Men’s Shot Put -
The Men’s shot put will feature three of the nation’s top ten marks starting with Central Missouri’s Jacob Mahin who is second in the country with a throw of 62’ 5” at the MSSU Bille Williams/Bob Laptad Invitational which automatically qualifies him for the national meet. Pittsburg State’s Derek McKnight is ranked sixth in the nation with a mark of 57’ 11” at the PSU Invitational. Missouri Southerns Bryan Burns is just behind him at eighth in the country witha  throw of 57’ 9.5” at the MSSU Invitational.
Women’s Shot Put - The women’s event is led by Jena Black who enters the weekend with the seventh best mark in the country throwing 49’ 11.75” at the MSSU Invitational. She is followed by her teammate Jasmine Smith who threw 49’ 1.75: at the Pittsburg State Invitational. Mackenzie Crowder of Nebraska-Kearney has the league’s third best mark with a throw of 46’ 10.75” at the UNW Prairie Wolf Invitational. 

Men’s Discus - Bryan Burns of Missouri Southern sports the nation’s third best mark with a toss of 184’ 6” at the Gorilla Classic which has automatically qualified him for the national championship. TJ Dozier of the Fort Hays State has the MIAA’s second best mark with a throw of 172’ 3” at the UNK Loper Invitational. At the very same meet Nebraska-Kearney’s Jacob Bartling had a toss of 168’ 8” which enters the weeks as the third best distance. 
Women’s Discus - The women’s event features four athletes who are in the nation’s top 15 led by Mariah Garcia of Central Oklahoma who threw 179’ 3” at the John Jacobs Invitational a mark that qualifies her automatically for the national meet. Also automatically qualified is Missouri Southern’s  Desirea Buerge who is sixth in the country with a throw of 172’ 10” at the SBU Invitational. Jasmine Smith of Pittsburg State is 11th in the nation with a throw of 161’ at the Gorilla Classic.

Men’s Pole Vault - The men’s vault features four in the top ten nationally led by the nation’s best in Cole Phillips of Central Missouri who is automatically qualified with a clearance of 17’ 5” at the SBU Invitational. Lindenwood’s Xavier Boland is also automatically qualified with a vault of 17’ 1” at the Kansas Relays. Bailey Stapleman of Nebraska-Kearney cleared 16’ 7.25” at the UNK Invitational for eighth in the nation.
Women’s Pole Vault - Missouri Southern’s Emily Presley is automatically qualified and first in the nation with a 14’ 5.25” vault at the Missouri S&T Dewey Allgood Invite. The second best mark in the league is Southwest Baptist’s Staci Wickersham who cleared 12 8.25” at the Gorilla Classic. Brittany Kallenberger cleared 12’ 7.5” at the MSSU Invitational for the league’s third best vault.
Men’s High Jump - The top height in the MIAA coming into the conference meet is 6’ 10.75” which is ninth in the country for Fort Hays state’s Kolt Newell at the Fort Hays State Open. Alexander Templeton of Lincoln and Trace Gordanier of Nebraska-Kearney each jumped 6’ 9” coming into the weekend at the William Jewel Open and the MIAA vs. NSIC Showdown respectively.
Women’s High Jump - Emily Dearman of Pittsburg State is tied for the nation’s top mark and automatically qualified for the national meet with a clearance of 5’ 10” at the Angelo State Relays. Her teammate Emilee Iverson is fourth in the country after clearing 5’ 9.25” at the Gorilla Classic. Natalie O’ Keefe of Southwest Baptist is 13th in the country with a jump of 5’ 7.75” at the Missouri Southern Invite.

Men’s Triple Jump - Missouri Southern’s Kennan Harrison has the best mark in the league this season jumped 49’ 4.25” at the Gorilla Classic. Lincoln’s Sedeeki Edie comes into the weekend second after earning a mark of 49’ 1.5” at the Kansas Relays. Nebraska-Kearney’s Colton Stuhr comes in third with a jump of 47’ 11.75” at the Loper Invitational. 
Women’s Triple Jump - Diana Cauldwell of Lincoln is automatically qualified for the national meet and fourth in the country with a jump of 41’ 10.75” at the Gateway Classic. Right behind her with the fifth best jump in the nation is Lindenwood’s Kendra Smith who went 41’ 5.25” at the same meet. Allie Heckemeyer of Missouri enters the championship with the third best mark jumping 40’ 2.75” at the Southwest Baptist Invite.

Men’s Long Jump - The men’s long jump features two of the top five marks in the country led by Jordyn Manier of Missouri Southern who is second in the nation with a jump of 24’ 11.25” at the Southwest Baptist Invite. Sedeekie Edie of Lincoln jumped 24’ 10.5” at the Gateway Classic which ranks him fourth in Division II. Paul Alongo of Washburn in third int he league with a jump of 24’ 0.75” at the MIAA vs. NSIC Showdown.
Women’s Long Jump - Diana Cauldwell of Lincoln has the nation’s seventh best jump at 20’ 1” at the Gateway Classic. Tied with her for the nation’s seventh best mark is Pittsburg State’s Emilyn Dearman who also jumped 20’ 1” at the Gorilla Classic. Emporia State’s Jazmin Williams has the league’s third best mark at 19’ 6” at the Emporia State Spring Invitational.

Men’s Hammer - Central Missouri sports the top three marks in the league led by Nathan Liby who is seventh in Division II witha  throw of 201’ 1” at the Gorilla Classic. His teammate Ben Hanson is right behind him at eighth in the country with a throw of 199’ 8” at the Emporia State Relays. Jace Kaleikau also of UCM had a throw of 197’ 5” at the Missouri Southern Invite which is third in the league.
Women’s Hammer - The women’s hammer is led by Mariah Garcia of Central Oklahoma who threw 190’ 7” at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational. Michelle Kyle of Lindenwood enters the weekend second in the league with a throw of 177’ 11” at the Greenville Select Meet. Brianna Cooks of Pittsburg State threw 175’ 7” at the MSSU Invite which is third in the league.

Men’s Javelin - The men’s javelin will feature three throws from the nation’s top ten led by Daniel Hernandez of Missouri Southern who automatically qualified with a throw of 229’ 3” at the Southwest Baptist Invite. Brett Thompson of Pittsburg State has a throw of 215’ 3” at the Gorilla Classic which is eight in Division II. His teammate Creighton Sanders threw 212’ 11” at the ESU Spring Invitational which is 10th in the nation.
Women’s Javelin - The women’s event also features three throws in the nation’s top ten led by Estefania Lopez who is leading Division II with a throw of 176’ 5” at the West Texas Classic. Her teammate Alexcia Deutscher is third in the nation with a throw of 156’ 11” at the Kansas Relays. Northwest Missouri’s Nicole Hopkins  threw 148’ 9” at the Emporia State Relays which is ninth in the country.

On the Track
Men’s 100m-
Lincoln enters the weekend with thee top three times in the league led by Roberto Smith who finished in 10.45 at the William Jewel Open. Stephen Rose finished just a tenth of a second behind at 10.36 at the Gateway Classic. Jakiel David finished in 10.40 at the very same meet for the Blue Tigers.
Women’s 100m - Pittsburg State’s Imani Hutchinson ran a 11.43 at the Southwest Baptist Invite which gives her the top time in the country and automatically qualifies her. Lincoln’s Kimberly Bailey is tied for second in the nation after running an 11.52 at the William Jewel Open. Kelsey Lewis of Pittsburg State is also in the nation’s top ten at sixth with a finish of 11.62 at the Gorilla Classic.

Men’s 200m - The Lincoln men have three of the nation’s top ten times led by Faedian Royes who is fourth in Division II with a 20.85 at the William Jewell Open. At the same race Stephen Rose ran a 20.93 and Miguel Barton had a 20.97 for the Blue Tigers.
Women’s 200m - Kelsey Lewis of Pittsburg State finished the race in 23.86 at the Gorilla Classic which leads the league coming in. The second fastest time in the league belongs to Southwest Baptist’s Mary Berman who finished in 23.86 at her home meet. Imani Hutchinson of Pittsburg State finished in 23.92 at her home meet for the league’s third best pace.

Men’s 400m - Faedian Royes of Lincoln has the league’s fastest time running a 47.15 at the Kansas Relays. Taysean Goodwin ran a 47.69 at the same meet representing Emporia State while Dillando Allotey of Fort Hays State finished in 48.24 at the same race.
Women’s 400m - For the women Mary Bergman of Southwest Baptist ran a 54.02 at the Texas State Invitational for the second fastest time in Division II. The second fastest time in the league belongs to Lincoln’s Kissi-Ann Brown with a 54.73 at the Kansas Relays. Kelly Wycoff of Fort Hays State ran a 55.48 at the same meet to come into the weekend third.

Men’s 800m - In the double revolution of the track Fort Hays State’s Decano Cronin finished in 1:50.30 at the Kansas Relays with ranks him eight in the nation. Brett Meyer of Fort Hays State finished in 1:50.53 at the Drake Relays which is second in the league. Ero Doce of Lindenwood finished in 1:51.62 at the Kansas Relays and comes into the weekend third in the MIAA.
Women’s 800m - Mary Carr of Southwest Baptist ran a 2:08.67 at the Missouri S&T Invite which comes into the week as the league lead. Kailey Fuchs of Central Missouri finished in 2:11.21 at the Kansas Relays which is second in the MIAA. Alexis Fritz of Southwest Baptist turned in a 2:14.38 at the MSSU Invite and comes in third.

Men’s 1500m - Cole Wellnitz of Nebraska-Kearney finished in 3:49.02 at the MIAA vs. NSIC Showdown for the league’s fastest time. At the same race Northwest Missouri’s Ryan Cox finished in 3:49.80 for second while Missouri Southern’s Vincent Kiprop finished in 3:50.17 at the SBU invitational for third.
Women’s 1500m - In the women’s race Missouri Southern’s Emily Harris has the fastest time at 4:34.42 at the Mt. SAC Relays. Shea Bonine of Fort Hays State turned in a 4:39.22 at the Kansas Relays to enter the weekend second in the league. Morgan Benesch of Nebraska-Kearney has the MIAA’s third fastest time at 4:41.66 at the UNK Loper Invite.

Men’s 5000m - Vincent Kiprop of Missouri Southern ran a 13:53.74 at the Washington University invite which automatically qualifies him and is the third fastest time in the country. Brandon Phipps of Northwest Missouri finished in 14:30.56 at the Bryan Clay Invite which comes into the weekend second in the league. Jacob Klemz of Washburn has the MIAA’s third fastest time with a 14:40.02 at the Emporia State Relays.
Women’s 5000m - Morgan Benesch of Nebraska-Kearney has the league’s fastest time with a 16:56.84 at the GINA Relays. Katherine Sitez turned in a 16:59.15 at the Bryan Clay Invite for Southwest Baptist. Christian Provence had a 17:20.04 at the same meet and will come into the weekend third.


Men’s 10,000m - Vincent Kiprop of Missouri Southern has the nation’s fourth best time turning in a 28:19.94 at the Mt. SAC Relays which automatically qualifies him for the national meet. Brandon Phipps of Northwest Missouri has the second fastest time in the league with a 30:34.39 at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival. Jacob Klemz of Washburn turned in a 30:44.38 at the Mt. SAC Relays which is the MIAA’s third fastest pace.
Women’s 10,000m - In the women’s race Micki Krzesinski of Fort Hays State has the league’s fastest time running 35:02.67 at the Drake Relays. Sammy Laurenzo of Northwest Missouri turned in a 36:55.38 at San Francisco State for second. Third in the league is Christina Metzger of Pittsburg State with a 37:09.80 at Washington University.

Men’s 110m Hurdles - Justice Burks of Pittsburg State is fifth in the nation with a 13.97 at the Gorilla Classic. Dustin Ellis of Northwest Missouri turned in a 14.49 at the Kansas Relays for second in the league. Emmai Brown his teammate has a 14.70 at the MIAA vs. NSIC Showdown for third.
Women’s 100m Hurdles - The women’s hurdles will feature two of the three fastest times in the country led by Emilyn Dearman of Pittsburg State who is tops in the nation with a 13.43 at the Angelo State Relays. Her teammate Courtney Nelson finished in 13.52 at the Southwest Baptist Invite which is third in Division II. Morgan Smith of Missouri Southern has the league’s third fastest time at 13.96 which she ran at her home meet.

Men’s 400m Hurdles - In the 400 hurdles Darran Hunter of Lincoln has the MIAA’s fastest time finishing in 53.44 at the Texas Relays. Jared Page of Pittsburg State has the league’s second fastest time at 53.53 at the Gorilla Classic. Matt Willis of Missouri Southern comes in third at 53.63 which he ran at his home meet.
Women’s 400m Hurdles - Pittsburg State’s Emilyn Dearman has the nation’s second fastest time at 58.61 at the Kansas Relays. Katie Cassidy of Central Missouri sports the league’s second fastest time at 1:00.49 at the Gorilla Classic. Jordan Hammond of Northwest Missouri and Shanice Clarke of Lincoln each turned in a pace of 1:01.45 on the year.

Men’s Steeple Chase - Lindenwood’s Omar Es Salmouny turned in an 8:56.66 at the Washington Universith Mini Meet which is the eighth fastest time in Division II. Andrew Fields of Nebraska-Kearney has the second fastest time in the league at 9:07.49 at the GINA relays. Dominick Fonseca turned in a 9:18.24 at the Kansas Relays which is the league’s third fastest time.
Women’s Steeple Chase - Morgan Benesch of Nebraska-Kearney finished in 10:42.53 at the MIAA vs. NSIC Showdown for the top time in the league entering the weekend. Emily Schoenfeld of Emporia State turned in an 11:10.75 at the Kansas Relays while at the same race Carlin Green of Pittsburg State had an 11:13.00 finish.

Men’s 4x100 Relay - Lincoln has the two fastest times in the country with the top being 40.04 at the Drake Relays. Missouri Southern paced the league’s second fastest time with a 41.20 at their home meet while Emporia State turned in a 41.28 at the MIAA vs. NSIC Showdown.
Women’s 4x100 Relay - Pittsburg State has the fastest time in the country at 45.33 which they turned in at the Missouri Southern Invite. Lincoln has the second fastest time in the league when they finished in 46.44 at the Drake Relays. Emporia State enters weekend with the third fastest time after finishing in 47.15 at the MIAA vs. NSIC Showdown.

Men’s 4x400 Relay - Central Missouri has the nation’s fifth fastest time with a 3:11.29 at the Gorilla Classic. Lincoln has the 12th fastest time in Division II with a 3:12.55 at the Kansas Relays. Emporia State enters the weekend with the third best time turning in a 3:13.51 at the same race.
Women’s 4x400 Relay - Pittsburg State comes into the meet with a 3:44.24 which they turned in at the Kansas Relays. At the same meet Lincoln set the league’s second fastest pace at 3:44.61 while Central Missouri comes in third after running a 3:46.14 at the Drake Relays.
