Joplin, Mo. – Lindenwood got 16 hits as they earned a 14-4 victory in seven innings over Missouri Southern to earn a spot in the MIAA Baseball Tournament’s Championship game.
 
Lindenwood got on the board in the top of the third inning as Ryan Sosnowski singled to right center driving home Paul Sherwood. Missouri Southern answered in the bottom half of the inning with back-to-back solo home runs by Mike Million and Max Hogan.
 
Lindenwood tied things up with a solo home run by Rayce Singbush in the top half of the fourth inning. Missouri Southern would take the lead back in the bottom of the fourth inning as Alec Alvarez singled up the middle to score Tyler Sutherland.
 
Lindenwood tied things back up as Wes Degener hit the fourth solo home run of the game in the top of the fifth inning. LWU would then strike for four runs in the top of the sixth inning to break the tie. It started with a single by Behrens followed by a 2-RBI double from Rayce Singbush. Wes Degener plated the final run with a single through the left side driving home Singbush.
 
MSSU would chip into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning as Brett Graham hit the fifth solo home run of the game.
 
Lindenwood then struck for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning all starting with back-to-back RBI singles by Sherwood and Degener. Sosnowski, Drew Quinones and Teter would then his three straight singles plating the other three runs.
 
Degener finished the day a perfect five for five with two runs scored and four runs driven in. Blake Beckman picked up the win striking out two over four innings while Brendan Feldmann picked up the win pitching the final three innings.
 
The Lions will face Central Oklahoma in the MIAA Championship game starting at 4 p.m. from Warren Turner Field in Joplin, Mo.
