Oklahoma City, Okla. – Emporia State got five runs in the bottom of the fifth as the earned a chance at the MIAA Tournament championship game from ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Northwest Missouri got the first run of the game as she hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Kaitlyn Weis. Makenna Davis would then single up the middle in the bottom of the fifth to drive home Katie Yoakum and tie the game for the Hornets.
ESU would then plate four more runs in the bottom of the fifth getting two on a single by Hailey Cope and two on a single by Jacie Stephens.
For the Hornets Davis finished two for three with a run driven in and both Cope and Stephens finished with two runs batted in. In the circle Eryn Stockman pitched three innings of scorless relief to pick up the win.
Emporia State will face Central Oklahoma in the MIAA Championship game which is scheduled to be played at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28 from ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.
