Kansas City, Mo. – Emporia State’s Alex White has been named the MIAA Baseball Hitter of the Week while Northwest Missouri’s Brad Roberts was named the Pitcher of the Week.

Alex White, 3B, Emporia State
In four road games White hit .667 with a team leading nine RBI and six runs scored as the #13 Hornets went 3-1. He reached base safely his first 11 plate appearances of the week with seven hits, two walks, a hit by pitch and reaching on an error. He was three for three with four RBI and a run scored in the Hornets 8-6 win at Newman. He was two for three with a double, a run scored and reached on an error in Emporia States 8-7 loss at Quincy to open the series. He was two for three with three runs scored, an RBI, a walk and a hit by pitch in the Hornets 19-7 win over Quincy in game two. HE finished the weekend going three for four with three RBI and two runs scored in the Hornets 14-2 series clinching win at Quincy. The 5-8 senior is a native of Colorado Springs, Colo. where he competed at Liberty High School prior to playing at Liberty University.

MIAA Pitcher of the Week
Brad Roberts, P, Northwest Missouri
Brad Roberts threw a 7-inning shutout against Lindenwood in a rule run game on Sunday. Roberts allowed just two hits in the 10-0 victory. He struck out six batters and allowed just three walks. Hitters managed just a .091 batting average against the right hander. The 6-3 junior is a native of Cairo, Mo. where he competed at Northeast Randolph County High School.
