Kansas City, Mo. – Nebraska-Kearney’s Dallas Schramm has been named the MIAA Baseball Hitter of the Week while Northwest Missouri’s Joseph Hietpas has been named the Pitcher of the Week.

Batted .733 (11 for 15) this weekend in Denver as UNK split a four-game set with Metro State. The catcher and designated hitter finished with two sac flys, hree home runs, four doubles, five runs and 13 RBIs. Having multi-hit efforts in each game, he also was perfect in 14 fielding chances. The 6-1 junior catcher is a native of Omaha, Neb. where he competed at Millar North High School.

MIAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Joseph Hietpas, P, Northwest Missouri
Joseph Hietpas struck out 15 batters in a 15-0, seven-inning victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday. Hietpas faced just 24 batters, going the full seven innings. He allowed just two hits and walked three batters to pick up his first win of the season. The 6-2 junior pitcher is a native of Fairfield, Iowa where he competed at Fairfield High School.
