FORT HAYS STATE’S KENNETT NAMED MIAA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Kansas City, Mo. (December 4, 2017) – Fort Hays State’s Kacey Kennett has been named the MIAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Kennett, a 6’0” sophomore from Olathe, Kan., helped the Tigers open conference play 2-0 thanks to a strong effort from long range.  Kennett drilled 41.2 percent of her attempts from behind the arc, including a pair of crucial threes down the stretch to lift FHSU past No. 19 Pittsburg State on Saturday.  The guard averaged 19 points per game, setting a career-high with 18 against MSSU before topping that with 20 against the Gorillas.  She missed just two of 13 attempts from the charity stripe (84.6 percent).
