KANSAS CITY, Mo. (November 8, 2017) – MIAA regular season champion Fort Hays State placed six members on the All-MIAA Men’s Soccer First Team, as the honors were announced today by the conference office.
 
The Tigers were led by MIAA Player of the Year Derick Gonzalez, who has put up 10 goals and 14 assists toward 34 points on the year. Fellow Tiger Abdoulaye Cisse joined Gonzalez on the First Team as a unanimous selection from the Forward position, netting 8 goals on the year. Fort Hays State Head Coach Brett Parker was named MIAA Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to an 11-5-2 record and an NCAA tournament berth.
 
Lindenwood’s Michele Ganz was also a unanimous First Team selection while being named Freshman of the Year after netting 11 goals and attributing 25 points for the Lions. Northeastern State’s Joe Garcia was the final unanimous First Team selection following a campaign of 12 goals and four assists toward 28 points for the RiverHawks.
