KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Missouri earned nine first place votes as they were picked first in the MIAA preseason baseball poll released today. The Mules come off a season where they were both the regular season and post-season tournament champions as well as advancing to the Division II World Series.
 
Emporia state earned a first place vote and are picked second coming in ahead of Missouri Western who earned a first place vote and is picked third. Missouri Southern was picked in fourth by the coaches just one point ahead of Washburn who was picked fifth receiving the final first place vote.
 
Ten points behind the Ichabods is Central Oklahoma who was picked sixth by the coaches with their cross state rival Northeastern State picked to finish in seventh. Pittsburg State was picked eighth just four points ahead of Northwest Missouri who is slotted to finish ninth.

The poll bunches up at Nebaska-kearney is just three points behind NWMSU in 10th and LIndenwood sits just two points behind that in the 11 spot. Fort Hays State was picked 12th with Southwest Baptist slated to finish 13th in the league.
 
Games are scheduled to being on the weekend of Feb. 2-5 from campus sites with the teams beginning the push to the MIAA Tournament which will be May 11-14 in Joplin, Mo.
