Kansas City, Mo. – Central Missouri’s Matt Elliott has been named the MIAA/AstroTurf Hitter of the Week for baseball while Northwest Missouri’s Nikko Pablo earned the pitching honor.

Matt Elliott, OF, Central Missouri
Elliott hit .526 last week with a triple, three home runs and seven RBI as the Mules went 4-0 to clinch a share of the MIAA Regular Season Championship. He went 10-for-19 at the plate, scoring six runs as well. He slugged 1.105 with a .526 on-base percentage. He had three hits in each of the first three games last week, including a two HR, three RBI performance in the series opening comeback win over Missouri Western. The 6-0 senior outfielder is a native of Olathe, Kan. where he competed at Olathe South High School prior to playing for Cowley County Community College.

MIAA/AstroTurf Pitcher of the Week
Nikko Pablo, P, Northwest Missouri
Nikko Pablo threw the third no-hitter in Northwest history on Tuesday, April 26, against Missouri Western. Pablo threw a complete game, allowing just one walk while striking out six. The game featured a 49 minute rain delay between the eighth and ninth innings. The wait didn’t phase Pablo who struck out the side in the ninth. The 5-7 junior is a native of Stockton, Calif. where he competed at Ronald E. McNair High School.
