JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - John Moseley, who has served as Lincoln University's Interim Director of Athletics since July, has been named the university's full-time Director of Athletics. He will also continue in his role as Head Men's Basketball Coach of the Blue Tigers.

"I am extremely humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Director of Athletics at Lincoln University," Moseley said. "I would like to thank President Rome, the Board of Curators and the entire Blue Tiger family for their trust and faith in me. I look forward to leading such an outstanding staff and working alongside our coaches, student-athletes, alumni and the Jefferson City community to help move our athletic programs forward."

Moseley recently completed his second season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach where he guided the Blue Tigers to their first winning season since 2001-02 and their first post-season berth since the 1986-87 season.

During his time as the Interim Director of Athletics, Moseley has helped lead Lincoln athletics by strengthening partnerships in the community and assisting with the creation of the Blue Tiger Athletics Club. Academically, 127 Blue Tiger student-athletes were named to the Dean's List for the fall semester, with 19 of them earning perfect 4.0 grade point averages. In March, the LU Women's Track and Field Team won the 2016 NCAA Division II Indoor Championship and the Men's Track and Field
Team finished third in the nation.

"I am excited to have John Moseley permanently move into this position of strong leadership in Blue Tiger Athletics," says Lincoln University President Dr. Kevin Rome. "During his time as Interim Director of Athletics he has already proven that he believes in striving for the success of all student-athletes, in competition, and more importantly, in the classroom. As we celebrate successful seasons, like those in basketball and track and field, I know he and the coaches of all our teams will work diligently to make Blue Tiger Athletics synonymous with winning."

Willie Jude II, Executive Director of Philanthropy, calls Moseley a great ambassador for a renewed school spirit.

"We are excited to have Coach John Moseley as our Director of Athletics.  Since his arrival, he has demonstrated a commitment to student academic and athletic success through his decisive leadership, teamwork approach, tireless work ethic, and a genuine love for Lincoln University," says Jude.  "We have awesome students, coaches, and administrators who are working hard to display their "Blue Tiger Pride" on a daily basis. John Moseley shares the vision of greatness Dr. Rome has for our university. We believe that alumni, local community, faculty, staff, and students deserve to be proud of our athletics program, as a whole and Moseley's leadership will help get us there."

"There is a momentum that has been created throughout this year and we have to build on the success that our student-athletes have had in the classroom and in competition. It is imperative that we continue to develop strong relationships with our alumni and with the Jefferson City community. I am extremely excited about the future of Blue Tiger athletics," Moseley adds.

Moseley earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a master's degree in athletic administration from East Carolina University.  He and his wife, Crystal, reside in Jefferson City with their daughter, Jillian.
