Set three pointers record in 90-74 win over Fort Hays State

Kansas City, Mo. – Second seeded Pittsburg State set an MIAA Tournament record with 16 three pointers in a 90-74 semifinal win over Fort Hays State in the MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
 
For the Gorillas Mikaela Burgess went 7-8 from the free throw line and hit four three pointers to finish with 21 points. Paige Lungwitz added 17 points while Hayden Herlocker had 15 points and a team best seven assists.
 
For the Tigers Nikola Kacperska led the way with 14 points and a team high five assists. Paige Lunsford and Jill Faxon finished with 13 points while Chelsea Mason, Beth Bohuslavsky and Taylor Chandler each had 10 points.
 
PSU will now face either #1 Missouri Western or #4 Emporia State in the MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship at 1 p.m. on March 6 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
