Kansas City, Mo. – The
MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament gets underway with four first round games on Feb. 29 from campus sites.
#12 Lindenwood at #5 Central Oklahoma
Fifth seeded Central Oklahoma will play host to 12
th seeded Central Oklahoma in the opening round of the
MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
The
Bronchos are led by McKenzie
Solberg who is averaging 16.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Julia Mason is averaging 10.6 points per game while Jordan Ward is averaging 3.5 assists per contest.
The Lions are led by
Kassidy Gengenbacher who is averaging 16.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest. Jenny Rocha is averaging 12.5 points and 4.0 assists per game while Vanessa
Zailo leads the squad with 8.4 boards per contest.
The winner advances to take on fourth seeded
Emporia State at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 3 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
#11 Northeastern State at #6 Missouri Southern
Sixth seeded Missouri Southern will open the
MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament at home against #11 seed Northeastern State.
The Lions are led by
Sharese Jones who is averaging 17.5 points and a team best 6.5 rebounds per game. Deb Holcomb is averaging 15.6 points and Kenya Wilson-Brown is averaging a team best 4.0 assists per game.
The
RiverHawks are led by Kate Bellamy who is averaging 10.1 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per contest.
Cailyn Long is averaging 9.5 points per game and Alexis Hill leads the team with 2.9 assists per game.
The winner advances to face third seeded Fort Hays State at 12 noon on Thursday, March 3 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.

#9 Southwest Baptist at #8 Nebraska-Kearney
Eighth seeded Nebraska-Kearney will take on ninth seed Southwest Baptist at home in the first round of the
MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
