Warrensburg, Mo. – Third seeded Central Oklahoma got a hat trick from Katie Killion as they earned a 4-2 victory over second seeded Fort Hays State in the MIAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.
Katie Killion got the Bronchos on the board in the 28
th minute as she scored unassisted finding the far left end of the net. Killion struck again for UCO in the 48
th minute as she took a pass from Mikayla Lowery to make it a 2-0 advantage.
Fort Hays State answered in the 70
th minute as Jasmine Beaulieu scored on a penalty kick from the left side. The Tigers would then not things up at 2-2 at the 77:10 mark as Dani Harris netted her fourth goal of the season. Just 49 second later UCO would regain the lead as Killion made the pass this time and Lowery found the back of the net.
Killion would then make it a hat trick in the 87
th minute taking yet another pass from Lowery to give her squad the 4-2 advantage. Killion finished with seven points in the game and Lowery had four points on the night. In goal Ally Salls made four saves to pick up her second win the tournament.
The Bronchos will face Central Missouri on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. from the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg, Mo.
