Warrensburg, Mo. – Top seeded Central Missouri scored three goals after a weather delay of more than an hour to close out a 4-0 victory over eighth seeded Washburn in the first round of the MIAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.
UCM struck first in the 54
th minute as Baylie Edwards scored off a deflection just before a weather delay of over an hour halted play. Megan Woolley would net the second game in the 70
th minute of the game taking an assist from Edwards.
Emily Griffon scored in the 81
st minute to make it a 3-0 tally off the assist from Jada Scott. Woolly would then net her second goal of the night as she headed in a pass from Mikala Modiri. Ana Dilkes made seven saves to pick up the shutout victory in goal.
Central Missouri will face fifth seeded Lindenwood at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 from Warrensburg, Mo.
